ABOUT THE INSTITUTION

Vivekanandha Educational Institutions is the Asia’s Biggest WOMEN’S Educational Institutions with 23,000 students. Vivekanandha College of Engineering for Women (VCEW), a Center of Excellence in Engineering and Technology was established in the year 2001 by the dedicated effort of Dr.M.Karunanithi,B.Pharm,M.S.,Ph.D.,D.Litt, Chairman and Secretary of Vivekanandha Educational Institutions. The college offers 5 UG Programme and 5 PG Programme and gained autonomous status in the year 2013. The infrastructure facilities like Class rooms, Laboratories, Seminar hall with the latest audio / Video communication equipment, Assembly halls, well equipped Library, Computer center with most versatile, powerful and networked computing facility, Hostels and Students center are equivalent to the best available at international standards.
The Institute is situated at 6Kms from Thiruchengode and 50 Kms from Salem. The nearby Railway Stations are Erode, Salem and Sankari. The Campus extends over a sprawling area of 500 acres in a serene atmosphere conducive for academic pursuit. All the eligible courses in the Institution are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. The institution has also obtained ISO 9001:2008 Certification. The College is Accredited by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was started in the year 2001. It has dedicated and experienced staff members. The department is fully equipped with modern hardware and software facilities. The entire campus is connected through LAN and Wi-Fi. Sophisticated internet facilities with 12 Mbps are provided to the academic and research work conducted by the Department. The department offers a PG course in Computer Science and Engineering from 2007. The department is also recognized as a research center for doing full time Ph.D programme from 2011.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Network simulation 2 (NS-2) is a discrete event simulator and has been widely accepted as a proven tool for generating complex network topologies in the wired and wireless scenario. The training programme aims at deliberation, sharing knowledge to the target audience about the significance of NS-2 and provides the hands on training on how to simulate the network, adding protocols and trace the result of simulation in wired and wireless environment.
